TuTu-Torial

Aka the easiest thing I've ever made!
 What you'll need

  • 1 piece of ribbon,  or cording approximately 1 1/2 - 2 times the measurement of the tutu wearers waist
  • OR 1 piece of elastic the measurement of the tutu wearers waist, ends sewn tightly together
  •  1-2 rolls of 6" wide Toule
  • OR 3-6 metres of Toule by the bolt (The more toule you use the fluffier and fuller your tutu will be!!)
  • Scissors
  • Patience

Cut the toule in strips 2x the final length of the skirt (EG. to make a 12" long tutu cut 24" strips of 6" wide toule). Start tying knots! Keep it tight or tie 3 together before tying to the waistband for the greatest poof impact. Make sure you double knot or it will be destroyed the first time it meets the washing machine. Hang to dry!

*For Sophia and Annalilia's tutu I used Ribbon for the waist and toule by the bolt (Left overs from Jenni and Marcello's wedding) which was the standard fabric width of 44". Sophia and I cut them into 4-6" widths and trimmed 8-10" off the length, which I used for Annalilia's tutu. (total lenth approx 34" = dress length of 17") Make sense???

If you decide to make this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me pictures and let me know how it goes!
