Dolly Cribs

Well, they're 1 part Doll Crib, and 1 part Toy boxes because at the end of the night 4 dolls, and a bunch of teddy bears get piled in them.
 What I used.
2- 2x10x 12"
4- 2x6x 17"
2- 6" scraps of door jamb; or any scrap of wood 1" thick, 6" long

I decided to make the crib 17" long in case we ever get into American girl, or any full sized dollys

I topped it off with a little pillow, and mattress pad I made from some cotton batting. It's used everyday. Annalilia likes to sit inside it. Sophia likes to play mommy to her baby horse; it's kind of creepy!

Bubble Dress

I measured out a jumper that fit Annalilia perfectly

Two Pieces in the lining fabric

And two pieces in your main fabric

I added a bell shape and added 2 1/2". The more length the bigger your bubble will be.

I sewed the lining and outside fabric for the front and back together at the neck line and top of the straps

You'll have two pieces each having the lining and outside fabric right sides together attached by the neck

Sew the side seams of the outside and lining fabrics together

It should look something like this

determine which side will be the back, cut down the middle, 3"

Sew a small strip, right sides facing than flip right side out

Slip between the lining and outside fabric than sew around the back slit

Sew the arm holes

Iron a piece of interfacing into the front to add some structure (photo courtesy of Sophia ;-D)

Sew a bias, or large stitch, leaving long strings, pull to gather the fabric

fold in the edge and pin making sure the gathering is spread out evenly, and the side seams line up

Hand Stitch the hem.

Add a button

And take a picture of your teething beauty!

This Website has a pattern for a bubble dress if you'd rather print one off. I'm a "Wing it" kind of gal so I just made my own. Enjoy!

TuTu-Torial

Aka the easiest thing I've ever made!
 What you'll need

  • 1 piece of ribbon,  or cording approximately 1 1/2 - 2 times the measurement of the tutu wearers waist
  • OR 1 piece of elastic the measurement of the tutu wearers waist, ends sewn tightly together
  •  1-2 rolls of 6" wide Toule
  • OR 3-6 metres of Toule by the bolt (The more toule you use the fluffier and fuller your tutu will be!!)
  • Scissors
  • Patience

Cut the toule in strips 2x the final length of the skirt (EG. to make a 12" long tutu cut 24" strips of 6" wide toule). Start tying knots! Keep it tight or tie 3 together before tying to the waistband for the greatest poof impact. Make sure you double knot or it will be destroyed the first time it meets the washing machine. Hang to dry!

*For Sophia and Annalilia's tutu I used Ribbon for the waist and toule by the bolt (Left overs from Jenni and Marcello's wedding) which was the standard fabric width of 44". Sophia and I cut them into 4-6" widths and trimmed 8-10" off the length, which I used for Annalilia's tutu. (total lenth approx 34" = dress length of 17") Make sense???

If you decide to make this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me pictures and let me know how it goes!
